Great app really helpful this app is worth more then it costs a real must have for those looking to learn Russian A++

Great for first timers and even better for those who want to perfect their skill. More than worth the money!

Not user friendly and does not have English pronunciation to sound out the words

This app is for vocabulary only (not grammar) and limits the category word order to "alphabetical" or "shuffled" eliminating the most powerful mnemonic method available when learning to count: numerical order. Good luck starting with "billion," reaching "one" in the middle of the pack, and finding "two" toward the end...

I had the free version and decided to get the full version, good selection of words and nice to hear a native speaker say them. Really great if you want to be able to practice without an Internet connection. Спасибо!

Please check following words, "arena, movie, bill, agreement" Adding a verbs is a must, please fix it.

Good program. To be the best you should make possibility to add new words to the collection (even if they are not from programs vocabular)

A lot of useless words and sometimes really bad translation. It would be a good App for 0,79€ but 8€ is really to much for such an App. But still 3 stars for something you can learn with it, but i DONT RECCOMEND TO BUY IT

Thank you for adding more Russian learning apps. I bought the only other Russian one and I have been checking for new apps almost every day and was very pleased to find this new one. The more the better.

Its a good study tool if you have other resources. The "Learn in your car" audio book here on iTunes is Wonderful. This application needs a couple more things to justify the 14.99 I already spent. (1) Audio. The study card should have a speak button on them so you can hear teh words being spoken. Reading is good, but it would help to hear. (2) Catagory. Alphabetical flash cards are hard to memorize. Grouping words that go together is more natural. Across followed by Actor is not as good as "Actor, Director, Movie, Theater etc. (3) Gender. There seems to be no accounting for masculine, feminine, neuter words in this. (4) Tracking. There are 1230 cards. I dont see a way to check off words you feel you know so you get the unknown words more. maybe that happens if you get them right on a quiz, but I dont see it.

I would give it 5 stars, but others are right, it needs more to justify the pricetag. Its a reliable app which is good to say, it is east to use and helps a lot. If price is no object, get this

As a Russian student I had high expectations. This app resorts to some obvious words and it is to expensive for the limited usage you get out of it. Dont get it.

Does anyone know when the audio Is available?

Loading the audio in v 1.4 will disable your ability to back up to iTunes. The support site claims that they will be submitting a fix, but until then I would recommend that you wait until the next version before purchasing. There are some small errors, such as the wrong audio file being linked to words. I have been studying Russian for several years and I think the vocabulary is too advanced for the beginning or even intermediate student of Russian. The vocabulary appears to be extracted from magazines and books and does not seem reflect conversational Russian. Obscure meanings are used for some words, and some English words are translated as long phrases. I would like to suggest that the program be modified to pick vocabulary words by frequency of usage in Russian, rather than randomly(?), as it appears now, i.e., a graded approach, so more commonly used words would appear more frequently in the beginning. It probably wouldnt hurt to be able to set the program to pick words by the inverse frequency of usage for the more advanced users.

the sound only works when the mute switch is disabled. i wasnt aware of that. so this is actually a great app.

Ive been happy with the app for building vocabulary. The app says the words just fine, which is great while learning. Note: the app does not have any verbs to review. The algoritim shows words that you miss more often in the spaced repetition mode, which is the only mode I use. I think the algorithim could use some help though, new words are shown in batches of 8 or so which is too much for me. The version I have is missing words for I and you, which seem to be big oversites in the pronoun category.

Good good good. I am Russian person and I like this program learning English and Russian. Only needs add more words than 2100. Need add 5000 words. Спасибо и рекомендую так как отличное озвучивание слов.

I just bought this app today. I, as a Russian learner, think this app is ok. Does what it says. I will keep you update as I use this app. But please periodically update this app with more words. One more thing is that Plz add the function to delete a word from my study set..!!

Great program that is pretty easy to learn once you get past a couple of slightly wonky menu trees. I speak fluent Mandarin and thought Id give Russian a try and the ability to hear the words pronounced clearly has been a saving grace as Ive studied. Pro: great price, great functions Con: small word base and some weird omissions! Would love to purchase an expansion to the database!
